With the 55001 experimental train leaving guangtong station at Dali east railway station, the HXN5 high-power diesel locomotive manufactured by CSR group qishuyan locomotive co., LTD successfully completed the traction test on the yunnan plateau railway.

The traction test of HXN5 high-power diesel locomotive was carried out on yunnan guangtong Dali railway line, which was implemented by kunming locomotive depot of kunming railway bureau.

The HXN5 high-power diesel locomotive is equipped with gevo-16 electronic injection diesel engine, rated power 4400kW (6000 HP), maximum operating speed of 120km/h, which is more powerful and faster than the DF8B diesel locomotive with rated power of 3680kW (5000 HP) and running speed of 100km/h.

The 55001 test train is composed of 32 carriages equipped with coal, with a total weight of 3,011 tons. The main test locomotive's starting performance, traction performance, braking performance and energy consumption under the condition of load are 23.5‰ of the upper ramp.

HXN5 type high power diesel engine test is successful, will greatly improve the yunnan railway equipment level, widely promote yunnan (through) (Richard) railway passenger and cargo transportation ability, with kunming railway under construction or ready to start construction such as big red railway, li fragrance railway project to form an organic whole, speed up for the "area" yunnan segment energized power protection.
